With nearly two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, my path to event planning has been rather unconventional. Upon graduation from St. Lawrence College, I pursued a full-time career in an academic / research setting, and after some long days and hard work, I received a degree in Sociology from Queen’s University. Over the last 20 years I have successfully negotiated multi-million dollar contracts and assisted in the planning of large and small events for my employer and my clients. Although I have been informally planning events for over 14 years, it took me all those years to figure out what I wanted to do when I grew up, and in 2018 Bowtie was formally established.
Together with the Habitat for Humanity planning committee (Kingston Limestone region), I aided in organizing a charity event that raised over $18,000 in one day. I volunteered with Kingston Police Community Volunteers, Victim Services of Kingston Frontenac, Big Brothers Big Sisters, & the CCS.
Well let's see, I have jumped out of a perfectly good airplane (w/ a parachute of course), completed half a dozen or more mud runs, parasailed in St. Thomas, and I have been thrown from a mechanical bull.
Tearing things apart and putting them back together. No seriously, I enjoy Home Renovation & Home Organization. To find out more about what I do in my "spare time" click the link below.
Heather and her team went above and beyond the call of duty and we are absolutely thrilled with the service we received. We weren’t sure we needed a wedding coordinator because our wedding was so small and casual, but are we ever glad we did! Heather, kept us on track and kept the day moving as smooth as possible. She came with so many great ideas and suggestions and helped bring our vision to life. I can’t imagine what our day would have looked like without their help. If we had to do it all again, hiring Bowtie Services in Kingston would be the first thing we did. Thank you so much!
"The bride said they (Bowtie) was the best money she spent when planning her wedding. I would absolutely hire them for my next event" ~ Emma S, K&S wedding guest.
