The couples we have worked with are often drawn to the County for its range of possibilities, from vineyard views to boutique hotels and intimate estates, but the key to narrowing it down is getting clear on your vision early. Before you begin touring venues, consider your budget, guest count, overall aesthetic (luxury, vineyard, or intimate elopement), where your guests will stay, and whether your day will unfold indoors, outdoors, or a thoughtful blend of both, with a solid backup rain plan in place.
Waupoos Estates Winery & Restaurant, Waupoos
Waupoos Estates Winery & Restaurant is the only winery in Prince Edward County that is located on Lake Ontario. With sweeping lake views, rows of lush vines, and charming farmhouse, Waupoos Estates Winery offers a romantic, elevated setting for a wedding in Prince Edward County. It’s ideal for couples who love great wine, scenic beauty, and a venue that feels relaxed.

The Cape, Picton
This beautiful historic mansion is located right in the heart of Picton and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. With its grand interiors, stunning architecture, and private event spaces, it’s perfect for couples looking for a sophisticated, boutique-style wedding with all the charm of Prince Edward County. One of our favourite rooms at The Cape is the Janice Joplin room which makes the perfect dining space for a micro-wedding vibe.

Brighthouse Farm, Wellington
Just outside Wellington, The Brighthouse Farm blends Scandinavian simplicity with rustic charm. Its peaceful setting, curated design, and wide-open landscapes create a relaxed yet stylish space for intimate celebrations. With beautiful light, industrial details, and a warm, natural vibe, it’s perfect for couples who want a wedding that feels both modern and meaningful. The heart shaped garden path is a great location for sunset photos and the outdoor sail-cloth tent makes a beautiful ceremony backup location.

The Royal Hotel, Picton
Chic, contemporary, and effortlessly stylish, The Royal is perfect for couples who want a modern wedding with boutique hotel vibes. With beautifully designed event spaces, exceptional food, and on-site accommodations, it’s ideal for a full off-season weekend celebration in the heart of Picton. If you are plannning to stay at the hotel we recommend booking a room in the Annex for added privacy.

The Drake Devonshire, Wellington
Set along the waterfront in Wellington, The Drake Devonshire is one of the most iconic Prince Edward County wedding venues, offering a unique blend of artful design and lakeside charm. With curated interiors, incredible food, and ceremony options from the beach to its glass box pavilion, it’s perfect for a stylish, modern celebration.
A&S, captured below, traded in a traditionl evening wedding for a lunch wedding timeline. They were married on the beach, had their reception which was a lunch, in the private dining area and then headed out with their photographer (Luciana Bale) to the Sandbanks Provincial Park for some alone time and newlywed photos. We love the idea of trading in tradition for something that speaks to our couples personal style.

With its craft distillery setting, scenic ceremony views, and laid-back vibe, it’s perfect for couples looking for something refreshingly different and effortlessly cool. Wild Lot is one of the few wedding venue locations that allows couple the opportunity to bring in their own catering.

Base 31, Picton
Bold, industrial, and full of character, BASE31 is by far the largest venue in the county. It is ideal for couples looking for an unconventional venue with creative energy. With striking architecture, flexible event spaces, and a rich historic backdrop, it’s perfect for making a statement and designing a wedding that’s anything but ordinary.

Compass Rose Suites, Milford
Compass Rose Suites features a serene forest chapel. One of the most unique ceremony spaces among Prince Edward County wedding venues. Surrounded by nature with a few onsite accommodations, it offers a peaceful and immersive setting for your outdoor celebration.

The Eddie, Bloomfield
Located just outside of Bloomfield, this rustic big red barn and classic farm house is the perfect blend of countryside charm. It has a private estate like feel with all of the artistic flair that PEC is known for. It is also ideally located just across the road from Wander the Resort.

Wander The Resort is an ideal setting for couples dreaming of a micro-wedding that feels equal parts elevated and effortlessly relaxed. Prince Edward County has a range of wedding venue options, from quaint bed and breakfasts to luxurious inns. We recommendd booking in person venue visits before signing a contract, and confirming availability with any of your must have vendors before finalizing your wedding date. Many venues in the County book a year to two in advance, so it’s important to start your search early and move decisively once you’ve found the perfect venue for you.

What's Included?
While Prince Edward County offers beautiful venues and a more relaxed pace, couples coming from major city centres are encouraged to account for limited local inventory when it comes to specialty rentals. Items such as coloured glassware, high-end linens, and furniture are often not available within the County, which means they need to be sourced and transported from outside the region. This can significantly impact your overall budget and logistics, so it’s important to factor these costs in early during the planning process.
When do I have access to the venue?
We highly recommend booking a venue that allows you to drop off your personal items the day before your wedding and access to pick up your items the next day. Your wedding day is meant to be enjoyed and rushing around to set things up or take things down at the end of the night is not ideal for you or your wedding vendors.
What is Plan B or the Rain Plan?
European alfresco-inspired weddings are undeniably beautiful, but Prince Edward County weather can shift quickly, sometimes within hours. Having a clear, well-thought-out rain plan isn’t optional; it’s essential. Before booking your venue, ask exactly what the backup plan looks like, how quickly it can be implemented, and whether it requires additional rentals like tents, flooring, or heaters. If the indoor option doesn’t align with your vision, consider whether you’re comfortable with that compromise or prepared to invest in creating an alternative setup. Understanding these details upfront will help you avoid last-minute stress and unexpected costs.
Is there a curfew or noise bylaw?
In keeping with the laid back County vibe many venues that offer outdoor venue options abide by the standard Ontario noise bylaw time of 11pm. Some venues will allow you to keep the party going until 1am with lower music levels. Planning ahead for your late night party or after party well in advance will help to avoid any disappointment.
Are there any gratuity fee or service fee we should plan for?
Gratuity and Service fees can range from 15–20% on top of your intial costs and make a significant difference in the overall budget. Review each vendor contract and invoice closely before signing off or paying the deposit or booking fees.
Planning Transporation for your Guests
Prince Edward County does not have public transportation or reliable, on-demand taxi and rideshare services. With many of the venues located in rural or remote areas, guest transportation is a key part of your planning, rather than an afterthought. To ensure everyone arrives safely and on time, we recommend arranging private shuttles from central accommodation hubs like Belleville, Picton, or Wellington. This is especially important for evening events where alcohol is being served. Factoring transportation into your timeline and budget early will help create a smoother, more organized guest experience from start to finish.
