S & K’s Brighouse Farm Wedding | Wellington
An Upscale Farmhouse Wedding at Brighthouse Farm in Wellington
When the bride first reached out and shared her venue choice and colour palette, my heart did the biggest happy dance. I have always loved an upscale farmhouse wedding, and the romantic mix of pinks, peaches, and soft yellows instantly brought me back to my own wedding colours from 2014. To say I fell in love with this wedding design from the very beginning would be an understatement.
Set at the beautiful Brighthouse Farm in Wellington, the entire weekend felt warm, welcoming, and intentionally curated. One of the things we love most about this venue is the charming onsite farmhouse, which creates such a relaxed and convenient space for getting ready with family and friends. The celebration began the evening before with an intimate alfresco dinner set along the farmhouse driveway, creating the perfect start to a meaningful wedding weekend.
The reception design was layered with thoughtful details, including elegant taper candles intertwined with bud vases overflowing with soft seasonal blooms that added colour and texture to the tablescape. Guests were welcomed with pink escort cards featuring personalized handwritten notes tucked inside, one of many details that made the day feel incredibly personal.
We also had the pleasure of working alongside some exceptionally talented vendors that we had not worked with before. Photographer Tara McMullin beautifully captured every detail and emotion throughout the day, while Story Teller Films documented the celebration so naturally and artistically. Food Dudes once again impressed everyone with their incredible culinary creations and impeccable attention to detail, making the dining experience just as memorable as the design itself.
Just weeks before the wedding, the bride received the wrong welcome sign in the mail and there was no longer enough time to reorder a new one before guests arrived. Moments like these are exactly why having an experienced wedding planner matters. Rather than allowing the mistake to become another source of stress during an already busy wedding week, we stepped in and created a new welcome sign that seamlessly matched the overall design of the celebration. By the time guests arrived at Brighthouse Farm, everything felt polished, cohesive, and completely intentional, exactly as it should on a wedding day.
One of my favourite moments of the entire day was holding onto the couple’s sweet pup, Levi, before gently releasing him down the aisle at just the right moment for the ring bearer processional. It was one of those joyful, heartfelt moments that perfectly reflected the spirit of the day.
From the romantic colour palette to the relaxed countryside setting, this Brighthouse Farm wedding was the perfect blend of elevated design, meaningful details, and unforgettable celebration.
